Do you enjoy working holistically to make adifference in peoples lives? Are you keen to use and develop your therapyskills in a complex and developing area? The newly established Post-viral Fatigueservice could offer you the opportunity to do just that! This service has beenredesigned from two existing multi-disciplinary teams to provide care andsupport to people with ME / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Long Covid acrossHerefordshire and Worcestershire. Our patients often experience additionalconditions, such as PoTS and persistent pain, so an understanding andexperience of working with these symptoms would be valuable. We are keen to usetherapies such as acupuncture, yoga and tai chi to enhance treatment whereappropriate, and could support you to develop these skills. We are recruiting a part-time Band 7Physiotherapist to offer virtual and in-person clinics across multiple sites asrequired, with the possibility of working virtually from home some of thetime. The post is 30 hours / week, to beworked within office hours. We offer flexibility, continual professionaldevelopment and supervision, as well as a wide range of wellbeing resources andsupport. If you would like to discuss the role further, please get in touchwith Marina Townend, Service Lead, at Main duties of the job You will beworking in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a service to patients withME / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME / CFS) and Post Covid Syndrome (PCS) andassociated symptoms, using a holistic integrative approach. Duties could typically include :
- Assessments : to undertake holistic assessments andreviews
- Interventions : to provide clinical treatments virtuallyand face-to-face, including management of activity and post-exertional malaise / symptom exacerbation, breathing practices, strategies to improve sleep, goalsetting, mindfulness and other individually tailored interventions for peopleliving with post-viral conditions
- To identify, plan and organise the development andevaluation of Physiotherapy services
- within the service, holding responsibility for definedprojects.
- Group work : to deliver and evaluate a group-based educational programme, and other relevantgroup activities for people with ME / CFS and PCS.
- Research & audit : to contribute to servicedevelopment and evaluation, audit and research projects.
- To provide professional leadership and supervision tojunior staff, students and participation partners within the service

- Ability to communicate effectively with patients with complex diagnosis, their families and carers, healthcare professionals and others involved in the persons care
- Supervisory / appraisal skills

- Ability to prepare presentations and deliver training Additional Criteria Essential
- Able to meet the travel requirements of the role, Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
- Fieldwork educator qualification
- HPC registration
- Evidence of post graduate education within specialist area
- Completion of specialist courses relevant to job role and client group
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer. Desirable
- Post-graduate training to MSc level or above Experience Essential
- Significant post registration experience in a variety of fields, with experience of working at senior level
- Relevant post graduate experience

- A wide range of clinical knowledge / experience within
- physiotherapy including individual and group work
- Knowledge of relevant health legislation and current evidence based practice, including policy guidance relevant to specialist area
