Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our specialist Band 6 Respiratory Rotation, within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The post holder will rotate on 9 monthly basis through a variety of clinical areas. These include Critical care, Surgery, Cardio -Thoracic`s`, Acute Medicine, Thoracic Medicine, Renal and Cystic Fibrosis.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate the relevant skills, experience and enthusiasm required to work within these clinical areas.
They will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills with the guidance of our Clinical Specialists and will be based at either the University Hospital of Wales, University Hospital Llandough or in a community setting.
The Department of Physiotherapy provides full induction, a comprehensive programme of in service training , regular appraisal and opportunities for development.
They may be required to work their normal contracted hours flexibly in a variety of different working patterns in response to the needs of the service where they are placed. For example, this could include working their contracted hours as part of a service model that includes extended days., To work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver physiotherapy services to patients within these specialist clinical areas. This will include patients with multi-pathology and complex need and those with cognitive and behavioural problems.
They will have responsibility for managing their own patient caseload. They will participate in the on call service (overnight and weekends) where they will work independently, managing the respiratory needs of complex critically ill patients.
In addition they will provide support for the clinical supervision of physiotherapists, student physiotherapists and support staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
