Full Job Description

The National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville is dedicated to the treatment of individuals with spinal cord injury. Physiotherapists are part of the enthusiastic and well-motivated inter-disciplinary team involved in all aspects of lifelong management from the acute stage through rehabilitation and post discharge.

An opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist with interest and experience in neurological physiotherapy seeking to develop their skills in spinal cord injury physiotherapy rehabilitation to join the team at the NSIC. They will be responsible for their own caseload of patients and provideliaison and communication with other members of the interdisciplinary team within and external to the NSIC supporting progression of patients through rehabilitation. They will be active keyworkers in the NSIC and support the goals of both the physiotherapy service and the NSIC.

Weekend and on call working are requirements of this post., 1. To perform assessment and treatment for Spinal Cord Injury patients with complex needs, and to provide advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
2. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
3. To participate in continuing professional and service development, and contribute to organisational objectives.
4. To participate in weekend and on call working
