Full Job Description

As a Specialist Practitioner, you will lead and participate in the School Nursing core programme, as underpinned by the Healthy Child Programme and will work in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Children's Services, Schools and other Health Care providers.
You will be required to work closely with pan Dorset 0-19 CYP Public Health Teams , to provide services in response to identified needs, including supporting the delivery of the ChatHealth texting service, Safeguarding and School Nursing Requests for Support.
You will manage the members of the 0-19 team effectively. This will include providing the line management for other team members, for example, management supervision, annual appraisals, sickness monitoring and management and conduct and capability monitoring and management.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Practitioners (School Nursing) to join and complement our forward-thinking Dorset 0-19 CYP Public Health Teams. This role is in the North Bournemouth locality within the 0-19 CYP Public Health Team based at Bournemouth North. This post is a fixed term part time post of 22.5 hours per week, year round.
Interviews will be held on 9th October 2024 at Alderney Hospital.
This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
