Full Job Description

All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.

  • An NVQ level 3 or higher qualification in childcare or equivalent
  • Experience of working in Early Years.
  • Good understanding of the current Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Experience of delivering a high-quality learning environment through good interaction and planned activities based on observations
  • Experience of setting up a wide range of activities for all areas of learning, using observations from these activities to assess children's progress, and plan further activities to support the learning and developmental needs of individual children
  • Good understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Confidentiality and Whistle Blowing.
  • Experience of completing risk assessments, care plans and reporting accidents/incidents
  • The Phoenix Centre has a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and to promote British Values and have a good knowledge of the Prevent Duty. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake an enhanced criminal records disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) the cost of which will be met by the employer. Provide two satisfactory references prior to their employment.

    Annual Salary £9274.50 - pro rata averaged monthly pay = £772.88
  • (Base Salary 11.45 hour = £8816.50 per annum + holiday pay = £9274.5per annum) An annual pay review is undertaken by the Trustees in March of each year Work Place Pension Scheme - NEST Work wear provided, plus free parking on site Permanent Part Time Posts 20 hours per week: - Monday to Friday afternoons 1230 to 1630 hrs Term Time only (38.5 weeks per school year)
