Full Job Description

  • The efficient and safe running of plastic extrusion and compounding machines - blending machine operation and manual tasks.
  • The fabrication of drainage products using various power tools (extrusion welding guns, jigsaws, grinders etc) - involving some manual handling and work at height.
  • To maintain high quality standards, whilst meeting agreed targets safely and efficiently.
  • Control all waste and create ideas which reduce scrap levels to agreed targets.
  • Assist the team with writing Risk assessments, SSoWs, ensuring process documentation is maintained at all times.
  • Maintain an effective level of communication at all times across all shifts and with support functions.
  • Any additional activities as directed by any Polypipe supervision or managerial staff.

    Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Preferably previous experience of undertaking fabrication tasks.
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing industry.
  • Previous work experience using hand/power tools.
  • Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
  • Proven ability to achieve against performance measures or KPIs.
  • Have a flexible approach to all activities and be able to demonstrate that you can work effectively both on your own, and with others in a team environment.
  • Preferably previous involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Valid FLT Licence would be advantageous but is not essential for the role

    Hourly rate of £14.99 per hour increasing to £15.44 upon successful completion of probation
