Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit highly skilled and enthusiastic radiographers who can offer experience in either CT and/or MRI
Our Trust is based around several sites in South Warwickshire. Across the organisation we have 3 Canon CT scanners, 2 Siemens MRI scanners with a third MRI scanner (Philips) becoming operational in 2025. All scanners are based at Warwick and Stratford upon Avon Hospitals with the expectation for successful candidates to rotate across both sites.
In CT and MRI we undertake a wide range of examinations seven days a week, with a 24 hour service in CT. Staff are expected to participate in shifts to cover the service.
CPD is encouraged and we offer IV cannulation and ILS training plus the opportunity to attend relevant study days and courses

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in CT and/or MRI. Should you only have experience in one of these but wish to work across both modalities and require training, this can be considered.
Hours: Seven day working including occasional overnight shifts and Bank Holidays
Previous applicants need not apply., To be one of a team of senior radiographers rotating through the
department including A&E, Theatres, CT, fluoroscopy and rotating to
satellite units in the community as required.
Opportunity will be available for staff to specialise dependent on service
needs into area such as Cath lab, Mammography, MRI., To rotate through the department undertaking unsupervised procedures in the following areas:
+ General radiography main department
+ Accident & Emergency and Fracture Clinic.
+ CT
+ Fluoroscopy
+ DEXA
+ Community as required.
To perform all clinical examinations to the highest standards according to departmental policies and procedures.
To set high standards of patient care, monitor, initiate and implement changes where necessary to improve care.
To assist and advise radiographers, assistant practitioners and radiographic aides where necessary.
To ensure knowledge is kept up to date with the latest developments in radiography and instigate change in liaison with Supt Radiographers and General Manager Diagnostics in line with developments.
To take part in weekend and week day shifts for radiographers or any negotiated system of extended hour's programme, which may be introduced, working nights may also be required.
To maintain clean, tidy and appropriately equipped rooms/areas ready for immediate use.
To be familiar with all departmental clinical protocols and procedures for all modalities.
Managerial
To assist with the daily duty roster ensuring all modalities are staffed appropriately with radiographers and support staff, when acting as the lead in the A&E department.
To monitor and report faults with equipment in the A&E department and general areas of the department.
In the absence of the Modality Lead: Liaise with the equipment manufacturers with reference to breakdowns/faults and Co-ordinate the daily workload.
To report sickness/absence to the Modality Lead/General Manager Diagnostics.
To manage non clinical staff and allocate daily workload g. porters, To participate in the daily clinical training of undergraduate students from UCE, Birmingham or elective students from other organisations.
To attend mandatory statutory training within the Trust on a yearly basis.
To ensure knowledge is kept up to date in line with developments and technology and maintain an individual CPD portfolio.
To assist, advise, teach junior radiographers and support staff techniques and procedures as required and be involved in the formative/summative assessment for graduate and adaption students.
To participate in appraisals, personal reviews and work to agreed objectives.
Clinical Governance (Policies, Complaints, H/S)
To adhere to all safety regulations with regards to Health and Safety, Infection Control, COSHH, IRMER and IRR.
To participate in radiology clinical audit.
To work within and adhere to standards and operational policies relating to the Trust and Radiology Department.
Review mistakes, incidents, near misses, complaints and successes to promote performance for self and patients.
To ensure the weekly/monthly radiology equipment QA programme is maintained, reporting any issues to the RA for diagnostics.
Communication
To liase with all staff members with specific reference to professional and personal development activities and promote commitment to continuous development and improvement.
To liase with wards, departments, clinicians, clerical and support staff to achieve maximum efficiency.
Liase with radiology call centre to ensure the appointments system is optimised ensuring full utilisation of Human and equipment resources.
Advise and liaise with clinicians within the Trust and across the PCT for examinations and results if required in respect of patient care.
Maintain patient records for all examinations as per departmental protocol (Paper and Computerised)., Sometimes we get a lot of applications for our roles. On those occasions we might close the job early. If you don't want to miss out we recommend submitting your application as early as possible.

Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.
