Full Job Description

The postholder will work alongside existing band 6's who provide a service to children with an autism diagnosis, and pre-diagnosis, in mainstream settings. Our successful candidate will have experience in working with autistic children and young people. They will be familiar with relevant assessment methods and intervention approaches and be confident supporting the key communication partners of children and young people. Driving is required for this post.

  • To work closely with other speech and language therapists to provide a specialised speech and language therapy service to children who have a diagnosis of autism and pre-diagnosis in mainstream settings
  • To provide specialist advice and support to the key communication partners of children on the caseload.

    Due to internal secondment in our autism service, we have a vacancy for a 0.8 wte band 6 speech & language therapist for 18 months from January 2025, or as soon as possible. The growing autism service is part of the wider Paediatric Speech & language Therapy team. There are lots of opportunities for joint working and professional development.
