We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated SLT to join our large team which includes specialists in many clinical areas. You will gain new skills, experiences and support Haringey and Barnet children and young people, their families, and schools. We have a strong focus on working with families and achieving the best outcomes for the children and young people.

It's an exciting time in both Haringey and Barnet. We are developing our Universal offers which run alongside the Haringey SLCN graduated response to identify and meet the needs of children and young people as early as possible and the ELSA programme in Barnet

The role is a 15 month fixed term, Band 5-6 run through. We welcome applications from current Band 5 or 6 SLTs with experience working in early years clinics or mainstream schools. Additional support and training will be offered for less experienced therapists. If applicant begins role on a Band 5 grade, once skills, experience and competencies are achieved, the post can progress to band 6 pay levels., These posts have arisen from additional funding from the North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) aimed at reducing long waits for children's speech and language therapy assessment and intervention in Barnet and Haringey.

The post holders would form part of the Speech and Language Therapy Teams in one or both Boroughs, providing assessment, differential diagnosis, advice and intervention to children with speech, language and communication difficulties. The caseload would be a range of children in Early Years and/or Mainstream Schools depending on experience.

The post holder should have knowledge and experience of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of developmental language disorder and social communication difficulties including those associated with autistic spectrum disorders and selective mutism. In addition the post holder should be knowledgeable and experienced in assessing, treating and managing children and young people who have associated syndromes or special educational needs which interact with their language development.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
