Full Job Description

This is a fulltime post on a busy PICU ward. The post holder will be expected to undertake the day to day clinical tasks discussed in whiteboard meetings but will also be able to work fairly independently and will be supervised clinically by the Specialist Grade doctor.
The post holder will have the necessary skills to prepare medico-legal reports including those for Tribunals and Managers hearings and will be expected to attend these hearings., + Working with multidisciplinary team in child development centre assessment and follow up for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
+ Delivering Paediatric clinics in local special schools.
+ EHCP assessment clinics
Safeguarding:
+ Child protection - Contribute to 9-5 on call rota for physical/emotional abuse and neglect.
+ Looked after children Clinics.
+ To work to an agreed job plan as agreed with supervising consultant.
+ To develop organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly administration of medicine and moving and handling.
+ To work within the team to ensure effective risk management by accident/incident reporting, assessing, and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
+ To participate in established peer supervision / Safeguarding supervision sessions.
+ To engage with Children's Community of Practice in CNWL to develop and standardise best practice.
The post holder will be expected to:
+ Act as an autonomous, registered practitioner who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols.
+ Have full registration with a licence to practice on the General Medical Council (GMC).
+ Gain further professional knowledge through accredited courses workshops, study and in-house training programmes.

We are seeking a Specialty Doctor who has experience working in psychiatry who is either considering non-training posts or who is looking to increase their experience in psychiatry.
The person should be a good communicator and works well in a team. They should have some experience and knowledge of physical health conditions.
They should be keen to involve themselves in improving the delivery of care on a busy high intensity ward.
