Speciality Doctor - Microbiology

The Speciality doctor will join the team in the provision of clinical services in Medical Microbiology; working closely with the Consultants and other clinical and laboratory staff. The post holder will be accountable to the Supervising Consultant., The Speciality doctor will, after suitable induction and training, be expected to authorise specimens under the supervision of a Consultant. They will be expected to liaise with other doctors within the hospital to discuss results and to provide clinical advice, again under the supervision of a Consultant. There will be regular attendance of antibiotic stewardship ward rounds as part of the stewardship team., We recognise that flexible working is important.
