We are looking for both established specialty doctors looking for a new challenge or for post-MRCP PACES trainees who feel a move to being a non-trainee would provide a better work-life balance with no more moving hospitals and the possibility to put down roots whilst working towards their CESR.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to meet or contact members of the clinical and management teams prior to completing the application or to the interview. Appointments can be made for a visit at any point up to the date of interview.

Main duties of the job

The post is based in the Cardiology Department at Airedale General Hospital, with on-call taking place on the AAU.

The post holder/s will be responsible to the Cardiology consultants when on standard days. They will be expected to:

1. Be able to lead or contribute to the ward round, support and teach ACPs, PAs, junior doctors, medical students and nursing staff, and provide senior review as appropriate for admissions to CCU and ward 1 when on standard days Cardiology cover

2. Undertake some administrative responsibilities such as contribute to local/regional Cardiology MDM and audits or quality improvement projects within Cardiology or Medicine.

3. Assist the consultants with the daily in reach/in-patient referrals so that patients are reviewed in a timely fashion, and ward support for junior ward staff for supervision and adequate rest/meal

4. Be able to run a weekly general or rapid access cardiology clinic, supervise exercise and tilt testing, elective cardioversion supervision, provide Cardiology advice to the cardio-respiratory department, the ward team and to the medical registrar on-call with Consultant support from the Consultant of the Day
