Specialty Doctor - General Adult Psychiatry, Royal Blackburn Hospital

The successful applicant will be based with Ribble Ward, working with the team and assessing and providing care for Psychiatric inpatients with significant Mental Health disorders.

There will be some flexibility to the work based on clinical need though it will include undertaking routine reviews, urgent assessments and MDT and Consultation work with the ward team alongside the Ward Consultant. Involvement in and referral of acute physical health presentations to the relevant department would also be expected.

The role is an excellent opportunity to develop and build on existing experience of Adult Psychiatry in acute presentations and medium-term treatment and management planning and to work with Medical and non-Medical colleagues already established within these parts of our service., Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are proud of our fantastic SAS Development Programme, which is a great source of development for our Doctors. We have an active SAS Forum which meets on a regular basis to discuss operational and professional issues to support SAS/Specialty Doctors.

To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 year's experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
