Specialty Doctor in Adult Community

EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Specialty Doctor who will provide consistent, high quality Medical input and clinical leadership to support the Adult community team based at Basildon Mental Health Unit, Basildon., The specialty doctor will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultant and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service to the patients in community. Basildon team provides secondary care mental health services for people in Basildon district, which is a borough in Essex and comprises of Basildon and nearby towns of Pitsea, Laindon, Vange, Wickford and Billericay. The post will be part of a community team providing secondary care services to working age adult population. There is an established primary care network (PCN) in the area with which the Basildon team link in with and provide input. The post-holder will also be expected to work independently and accountably providing clinical leadership to the team, through good multi-professional working and liaising with a range of professional groups including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists and doctors in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year. You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also need to provide evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post.
