Full Job Description

This is a 1:8 rota covering weekends and nights in Theatres, Maternity, and Intensive Care. Outside of the on call the successful applicant will be expected to undertake solo working under the supervision of a consultant in any of the above areas,

  • Responsible for the continuing care & treatment of patients in your charge & personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan
  • Responsible for the professional supervision, training & management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination & accreditation duties as required & contributing to postgraduate & CPD activity locally & nationally as appropriate
  • Participate in clinical audit under local arrangements.
  • Commitment to taking part in annual appraisal process which will be undertaken by the Medical Appraisal Department
  • Responsible for compliance with personal continuing professional development requirements with the support of the Trust. It is mandatory for all Medical Staff to keep up to date with evidence based practice.
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness of & acting in accordance with professional guidelines such as "Duties of a Doctor", "Good Medical Practice", & the "GMC Performance Procedures" .
  • In exceptional requirements to undertake additional duties for limited periods within the Trust

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
