Full Job Description

We are a busy anaesthetic department with a commitment to train both local and international trainees and have an active eduction programme.

The successful candidates will undertake anaesthetic sessions accross a broad range of specialties including Bariatric surgery, General surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Maxillo facial, Urology and Gynaecology.

The Anaesthetic departments at University Hopitals Sussex - accross all sites are extremely forward thinking and have established themselves within the research arena, with multiple presentations at national and international meetings., St Richards has 10 main operating theatres, 3 day surgery theatres and an obstetric theatre. The Anaesthetic department provides anaesthesia for over 100 routine operating lists per week servicing all the main surgical specialities.

Anaesthesia is also provided for the Radiology and Accident and Emergency departments. In addition the department is resposible for the running of the acute pain services and the maintenance of obstetric analgesia.

Pre Assessment services are provided across all of or sites with Consultants providing dedicated led clinics. Cardio Pulmonary testing clinics run at Worthing.

Specialty Doctors are required to work across all specialties providing safe cover for Theatres, Delivery Suite and ITU.
