Full Job Description

The Anaesthetic Department at the William Harvey Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic and conscientious individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians.William Harvey Hospital is a large district general hospital providing care for the diverse population across East Kent. The hospital provides surgical services for the regional head and neck cancer service, colorectal cancer and other specialties, including gynae, ENT, trauma surgery, breast, paediatric and ophthalmology. There is also a 24-hour pPCI cardiology service. We are a leading level 2 trauma unit and have a busy obstetric unit with 4000 deliveries a year.Vascular and urology services are based at Canterbury. Most elective Orthopaedic services for the trust are now provided at the state-of-the-art Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Canterbury. There is a well-established preassessment service providing support for all surgical specialties., The successful applicant will be expected to provide safe, anaesthetic care for a variety of surgical lists at William Harvey Hospital with an opportunity to work on other Trust sites, based on personal experience, preference and the clinical needs of the William Harvey department.

Anaesthetic services are provided for elective and emergency surgery in the main operating theatre complex of 8 theatres. In addition, there are 4 day-surgery theatres.

We will work with you to shape the ideal job plan upon successful appointment, and review it with you after three months and then annually - so you can keep the perfect fit. We will also provide the essential resources to support you in your duties, including administrative support.
