Full Job Description

The clinical duties of the post will include the following:

  • Participation in one stop symptomatic, wound check and results clinics across Brighton

  • Contributing to the care of the in-patients and out-patients clinic at Brighton

  • Theatre assistant - participating in operating lists, independent operating if experience allows this but under supervision

  • Administrative duties associated with the care of patients

  • Teaching BSMS students attending the unit.

  • There are no on-call commitments associated with this post.

    The role will be a full time 10 PA post with the opportunity to cover all aspects of the surgical service from one stop 2WW rule clinics, theatre support and depending on the experience some potential independent operating plus follow up activity.
    The successful candidate will join a busy breast surgical service and providing breast screening to a population of over 135,000 women and receiving over 6000 GP referrals and treating around 500 new breast cancers in Brighton.
    There is a stand-alone department at park centre Brighton with modern digital equipment including tomosynthesis and VAB/E.
    There are 6.5 Consultant breast surgeon posts working across Worthing, Chichester and Brighton. They have developed a good reputation within the Trust in terms of extending the boundaries of reconstructive expertise.
    You will be fully supported in having a senior support when needed.
