Full Job Description

The post will be office based inRainbows Centre, Burnley GeneralTeaching Hospital, working in hospital and community-based outpatient settings across the trust footprint. Flexible working from home arrangementsarepossible for non-patient facing work activities.

  • Applicants must haveFull GMC Registration & Licence to Practice
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Completed at least 4 years full-time postgrad training (or equivalentifpart-time) at least 2 of which will be in aspecialty training programme orequivalent experience andcompetencies.
  • The postholderwould be working closely as part of theMultidisciplinaryTeam which consists ofPaediatricians, Advanced Paediatric Clinical Practitioners, Specialist Nurses, Neurodevelopmental Practitioners, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Child Development Centre Team.Full training and supervision will be provided. There is an active continuing professional educational program andaudit and quality improvement within theservice. There is no Acute Paediatric on call commitment associated with this post. The Child Health Service in East Lancashire is the largest centralised children's service in theNorth Westand one of the largest in the country, serving a diverse population of around 520,000 people. Within the Family Care Division there are also General / Acute Paediatric, Neonatology and Child Psychiatry services. There are also many sub-specialty services. The Child Health Services are active in undergraduate and postgraduate specialist training.
  • Children in Care - Initial Health Assessments
  • Undertake outpatient clinics to see referrals covering a range of problems including Neurodisability Conditions such as Cerebral Palsy and Neurodevelopmental Conditions such as Learning Disability, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, DHD, Dyspraxia, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
  • Clinical administration / management such as Medical Advice for Education Health Care Plans (ELHP's), responding to parent phone queries.
  • Attendance at Directorate Speciality Board, Clinical Governance and Continuing Professional Development Meetings.
