Full Job Description
+ Examination, investigation, treatment and referral of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
+ Oversee the work of other junior clinical staff working in the department
+ To participate in departmental teaching and audit programme

+ To attend safety huddles
+ To ensure IT patient information system is kept up to date
+ To ensure good communication with the Nurse in Charge
+ To ensure that all clinical staff have their appropriate breaks when acting as shift leader
+ To participate in departmental teaching and audit programme

Specialty Doctor
We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales's capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons.

Job overview
The Emergency Department is a small-medium friendly department seeing approximately 64,000 adult and paediatric patients per year. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join the multi-disciplinary ED team.
A full time specialty doctor works 10 sessions per week, with 8 clinical and 2 non-clinical sessions. The rota is an extremely flexible annualised rota and the pattern of work is tailored to individual requirements to ensure sustainable working and good work life balance.
