Full Job Description
The Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with its own Medical School and has a newly built Academic Complex. You must have experience in General (Internal) Medicine, be comfortable in the initial assessment and on-going treatment of acutely ill, adult medical patients with a wide variety of pathology. You will work under consultant supervision and within a dedicated team at all times. While these posts do not have educational approval, they provide excellent experience and access to the same educational resources as our Trust approved training posts.,
- To assess, treat and discharge patients within General medicine.
- To promote good communication to patients, carers and staff, often communicating sensitive information with empathy in relation to patient conditions.
- To ensure effective communication is maintained and enhanced with primary care and acute sector colleagues.
- To participate in monitoring clinical standards, patient pathways and protocols, particularly to ensure the fundamental and essential aspects of patient care is maintained.
- To work within own realm of competence at all times and taking opportunities to update skills, knowledge and professional development.
- To make referrals to specialists as and when required and within the UHNM protocols.
- To support other junior doctors in the ward in performing day to day activity in the ward.
- To take part in teaching and training of medical students, physician associates and junior doctors.
In order to be considered applicants must have FULL GMC Registration, Basic Life Support and have previous experience of working in the NHS.
