Full Job Description
Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor. The successful candidate will join the existing General Surgical Department at Prince Charles Hospital. The post will have a general surgical emergency 'on call' commitment on a 1:10 basis. This post is fixed term for up to 2 years, covering a career break. This post will join the team of consultants responsible for the provision of general surgical services to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. The Post will be based at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, but may also be required to undertake sessions across other sites within the organisation.Main duties of the job The post will be required to share with Consultant colleagues the responsibility of providing General Surgical outpatient and inpatient care for the local population and in doing so foster excellent working relationships within and outside the General Surgical Department. The General Surgery Department has supportive Consultants and a successful track record of facilitating the SAS/Specialty Doctor's to progress to CESR. Any successful candidate will have a great opportunity to have guidance from the candidates who have already obtained CESR or from those who are now in the CESR process.
