Specialty Doctor in Haematology

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) invites applications for a Specialty Doctor (ST3 level +) in Haematology based at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General hospital.

The clinical team currently comprises 5 consultant/specialist grade haematologists, 2 specialty doctors, a JCF, an ACP, four clinical nurse specialists and a cancer support worker.

The department is warm, friendly, open and supportive and has a professional and friendly working relationship with all teams involved in the care of haematology patients., The job plan covers all aspects of a Specialty Doctor's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It provides a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. Job plans are reviewed on an annual basis.

ELHT has Teaching Hospital status and has an active educational programme. The post holder has an opportunity to participate in the education of medical students/foundation year doctors.
