Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a fixed term Specialty Doctor to join the South Cumbria Older Adult Mental Services Team based at Furness General Hospital. The post is full time (10 PAs) and fixed term for 12 months initially and may be extended.
This exciting post combines community with inpatient and liaison work, making it a great opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and gain experience across older adult psychiatry.
For those with Section 12 approval, there may be the opportunity to join the On Call rota, for which additional remuneration will be payable., The main duties of this post are to provide medical input to the Older Adult Rapid Intervention and Treatment (RITT) and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Services. The requirement is for the direct care and advice/consultancy to members of the team, GPs and other practitioners. The setting in which patients are seen reflects their needs; this may be home visits or clinics. The post holder will be expected to adopt a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to patient care according to the principles of new ways of working. The inpatient and liaison element of this role will be at Furness General Hospital., To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 year's experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
