Specialty Doctor - Perinatal Psychiatry, Leyland

The clinical component of the post is focused on the care of the patients referred to the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health team based at Leyland House.

The post holder shall provide clinical input and support to the Consultant within the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team at Leyland House. This will include assessments of referrals/ admissions to the service. Diagnosis and formulation of management plans in complex presentations. Management in treatment resistant and complex presentations and the assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others, as well as providing clinical supervision to the team., Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are proud of our fantastic SAS Development Programme, which is a great source of development for our Doctors. We have an active SAS Forum which meets on a regular basis to discuss operational and professional issues to support SAS/Specialty Doctors.

To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 years' experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
