Full Job Description

The service is commissioned to work with people living in Manchester and experiencing a first episode of psychosis. It works with people between 14 and 65 years of age. The current commissioned caseload is approximately 560 patients. The teams provide expert assessments and treatment for people presenting with a first episode of psychosis. Each team is led by a team leader.
The Service also has psychology input, clinical pharmacist input one day a week, and 2 sessions from a CAMHS consultant psychiatrist to support input to younger patients. Care coordinators come from a variety of backgrounds including nursing, social work and occupational therapy, and they are supported by support, time and recovery workers. There is an At Risk Mental State Service (EDIT), led by a clinical psychologist and a physical health pathway to improve care in this area.
Referrals are triaged by the CMHT and initial assessments are the undertaken by the CMHT. Following this for those patients that are accepted as requiring CMHT input they are either allocated a Care Coordinator or for those requiring shorter term input allocated a case manager on an extended assessment pathway. The CMHT is recovery informed and focused with an aim to transition patients back to primary care. For those patients who require secondary care input but not at enhanced CPA level e.g. long term stable patients on clozapine, they remain on a standard care pathway with an allocated case manager., We are aspiring to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities that we serve, and we are strongly committed to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under-represented groups, for example BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities. If you would like to have an informal chat about the recruitment process for this role or would value some additional support, we'd love to hear from you.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for posts at Greater Manchester Mental Health who have direct experience of mental health, learning disability or drug and alcohol services either as a service user or a carer., If you are offered a role with us and you require sponsorship, we will check your eligibility in line with the information on the above website. Your offer of employment could be withdrawn if the role is not eligible for sponsorship, and you are not otherwise able to evidence your right to work in the UK.
