Full Job Description
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust are looking to recruit Specialty Doctors in Stroke Medicine to join our existing team. The advertised full time substantive posts attracts 11 programmed activities inclusive of on-call duties Our Stroke team is always looking for opportunities to develop and improve services and promote innovation. We are looking for individuals who are keen and interested in delivering care within the Stroke Service in the ever-changing and challenging environment of modern day healthcare. We can offer training and development opportunities and will support the Specialty Doctor to enable them to provide a first class service. If you are passionate about delivering high quality patient care and want to be involved shaping services for the future we would be keen to hear from you., The post holder is expected to contribute to a service which is both Consultant-led and delivered.
- Undertake a daily ward round of the allocated bed base
- Review all new medical admissions when rostered for on- call duty within the timeframe of the operational standard for the service and remain responsible for the care of these patients until they are either discharged from or transferred to another specialty ward if applicable.
- Assess all new admissions to HASU and Stroke ward
- Support the team to deliver effective, safe, and timely care in line with the operating standards of the Stroke wards
- Ensure appropriate handover of care at the end of a shift to the next responsible clinician.
- Liaise with specialty clinicians to facilitate their early involvement
- Further develop functional links with the community to facilitate seamless transfer of patients between the community and the hospital.
- Ensure timely completion of all documentation pertinent to an admission, transfer, discharge or death, in line with hospital standards.
- Supervise and ensure robust and effective hospital clinical handover at 09:00 am each morning Monday - Friday moving to 7 days when service extends
- To engage and work in line with the Criteria to reside principles as set out by the Trust
- Contribute to the Thrombolysis and Ward Cover on call rota
