Full Job Description

The applicant will be well led with excellent Clinical Supervision by senior staff during all shifts. You will be allocated a Consultant Mentor and Educational Supervisor to support and guide your professional development during your time with us.Successful applicants will be welcomed into our vibrant and friendly multi-disciplinary team. There is a strong emphasis in team-work in our EDs and we work closely in collaboration with the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and Intensive Care.Since July 23rd, 2024, we centralized the acute medical take, to Gloucester Royal Hospital. All the medical patients who present at Cheltenham and require admission, will be transferred to Gloucester. The Emergency department in Gloucester, has SOPs for direct referral to other specialties like Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU), Trauma Assessment Triage Unit (TATU), Paediatric Assessment Unit for children under three months old (PAU), Head and Neck Short Stay Unit (HANSSU) as well as having a functioning Urgent
Treatment Centre where the minor injuries and GP presentations are streamed., As an Emergency Department Trust Speciality Registrar, your role will be in the initial assessment and treatment of the ill and injured patient as well as providing clinical advice to more junior ED doctors and ENPs, where appropriate. You will have the opportunity to be part of the Trauma Team within the ED and to be the nominated Resus or Paediatric doctor of the day. The clinical experience you gain will be diverse and interesting.As a employee of the Trust the post-holder will work in close co-operation with and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.
