Full Job Description

Effective completion and maintenance of Customer Specifications and portal systems in line with customer category plans and Compleat Food Group agenda.

  • Responsible for the completion of all customer specifications in totality including areas of raw materials, packaging and legality. NPD or EPD lead.
  • Specification information is accurately written and updated as dictated by the business in a timely manner in line with customer critical paths and group level projects.
  • Works alongside Procurement, Technical, Development & Packaging to ensure that these teams have acquired and maintained accurate raw material and packaging supplier information so that the information in the customer specification is up to date and accurate.
  • General housekeeping is maintained including management of the specification administration process from concept, through to delist.
  • Follow assigned critical paths for the delivery of customer specifications and flag if there are concerns in hitting deadlines
  • Support the checking of documentation required to attach on to customer specifications as attachments.
  • Conduct annual specification reviews across on your dedicated site & customer specifications.
  • Ensures the portal system site contacts are kept up to date
  • Brief the relevant stakeholder on all relevant online alerts, policies and procedures for approval and awareness.
  • Legal: Adhere to latest labelling guidelines / Customer codes of practice
  • Have working knowledge of relevant customer policies and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge and practice of latest customer / legislative guidelines
  • Information is completed in accordance with the customer requirements and policies, and legal requirements.
  • Good understanding of Meat labelling Regulations (if required)
  • Verify: Complete documentation in support of the product development team and wider business when required.
  • Support the specification & development teams to provide information for relevant trackers as required to support in the management of NPD/EPD or customer projects
  • Support development managers and chefs in recipe formulation, legal labelling, QUIDs and submission forms when required .
  • Support on Recipe Professor where required.
  • Work to jointly agreed critical path timings.
  • Launch: Support artwork process and lead at site level in order to produce legal packaging in line with Compleat, retailer and industry standards.
  • Support the PD team in the approval process of all customer artworks.
  • Supports the Project manager in ensuring the critical path for the artwork process is maintained and highlights if there is a risk to a project.
  • Support the artwork checking process at site is fully adhered to and that artwork fully complies with customer and legal requirements.
  • Upload of approval comments onto the relevant artwork portal system and to notify when new artwork is ready for approval in a timely manner if relevant.
  • Supports the upload of cutter guides and information for primary packaging as supplied by the packaging technologist to customer artwork portals.
  • Liaise with artwork service providers as necessary
  • Maintains internal artwork folders (physical and electronic), ensuring the most up to date artwork is available.
  • Track artwork costs and Debit Notes where required.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate with various teams as required by manager
  • Communication with the customer technologist to sign off artwork / specifications as required.
  • Support artwork meetings and as necessary internal customer meetings.
  • Support in customer/audit visits to site from a customer specification perspective
  • Work to technical documents and procedures.
  • Work closely with the team of specification technologists/ Managers.
  • Appropriate communication (written and verbal) to teams and team members.
  • Attend relevant meetings, to communicate relevant information regarding current/new products when required.
  • Promote safe working across site and advice immediately on unsafe work practices.
  • May be required to carry out projects within the Compleat Food Group.

The position is suitable for a candidate looking to start or continue their career within the food manufacturer industry with minimal experience., Customer specification system experience
  • HACCP / Food Safety Training
  • Meat analysis experience
  • Critical path management
  • Food manufacturing experience within an FMCG environment
  • HACCP / Food Safety Training/basic knowledge

    To support the specification team in delivering all New and Existing products creating brand and customer specifications in line with Compleat Food Group and customer standards against legal labelling criteria. Support the Specification team to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Provide professional and efficient administrative support to group wide functions and specific specification customer requests and queries.
