Are you interested in working in an upbeat, enthusiastic and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants where you can further develop your skills and contribute to ongoing service development. If so then working with Children and Family Health Surrey may be for you.
Children and Family Health Surrey is made up of three partnering organisations, CSH Surrey,First Community Health and Care, and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Together, we provide one Surrey wide community health service for children and young people from birth to nineteen years of age and up to twenty five years for young adults with additional needs and their families and carers. In this post you will be employed by CSH Surrey.
You will be working within the South East Surrey Quadrant of Mole Valley and Banstead based in and around Dorking, Leatherhead, Ashtead, Tattenham and Banstead.You will work as a member of our Early Years Team. This is a challenging and varied role. Day to day you will be conducting assessments, writing reports and running therapy sessions either groups or individual for a varied population of birth to five year old including children with Language disorders and delays, Social Communication Disorders, Speech difficulties, stammering, Down Syndrome, general delay and much more. You may work from a variety of settings such as Health centres, Family centres, nurseries and patients homes.
Main duties of the job
As part of your developing specialist role you may also be involved in
Supporting and line-managing less experienced members of the team
Organising and co ordinating a small team within your local area
Conducting Multi-disciplinary assessments
Delivering training to parents, HVs or Nurseries
Running drop-in sessions
Working with specialist caseloads aged birth to nineteen such as children who stammer, children with an acquired brain injury, basic dysphagia or voice based on your experience and the needs of the service.
We would encourage dysphagia and/or dysfluency training with this post.
We firmly believe that the best services for the children we serve come out of effectively training and supporting our Therapists. As such you will be supported by the following:
- Regular supervision with your line manager a more senior Speech and Language Therapist.
- Working as part of a team
