Full Job Description

As Speech and Language Therapist at Arc School Ansley, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will be working with all our pupils across the primary age range, supporting the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with communication needs. You will manage your own caseload and be expected to work flexibly, providing therapy services to pupils according to clinical need. You will be expected to actively participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training and annual appraisals. You will have the opportunity to take an active role in the development of the learning environment and support program we offer so that we can improve and expand our offer to younger pupils and pupils who may join us with limited communication skills or being non-verbal. The post holder will be expected to work in collaboration with other Speech and Language Therapists to support the development of the Speech and Language Therapy services across the Kedleston Group. Clinical supervision will be provided, either from Senior Speech and Language Therapists within the group or funded externally, depending on requirements.

Arc School Ansley, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in Ansley, for children and young people aged between the ages of 11 and 17. Those who come to the school have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition and often many associated social, emotional and mental health needs. Our pupils are academically able but have struggled in a mainstream setting. We look for people to join our staff team who have the creativity and enthusiasm needed to deliver the best outcomes for the children and young people. Kedleston Group Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You will be expected to engage in annual safeguarding training, be familiar with key policies and ensure you know the steps to take should you be made aware of a safeguarding or child protection concern. You will remain vigilant and act swiftly if you have concerns about a child and be an appropriate role model for both children and colleagues at all times.
