Full Job Description

This 3 day a week post will suit an HCPC-registered, qualified Speech and Language Therapist who has theoretical knowledge of cleft lip and palate and related disorders at a post-graduate level or equivalent, as well as advanced level clinical experience of GOS.SP.ASS. (Great Ormond Street Assessment), videofluoroscopy and nasendoscopy investigations. You will be highly motivated about your work and keen to make a difference to the lives of the patients in your care. Naturally you will have excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills. We will expect good time management capabilities to ensure you can manage your own caseload efficiently. Analytical and reflection skills are essential as is knowledge and experience of delivering different evidence- based therapy approaches and you will have experience of working with a multidisciplinary team. You will enjoy the challenge of participating in audit and research projects and you will relish this opportunity to use clinical, This role requires an expert level of diagnostic skill and the ability to carry out detailed assessments of complex speech problems as well as being able to plan and deliver appropriate intervention. You will also lead specialist speech investigation clinics (involving videofluoroscopy and nasendoscopy), provide second opinions on the speech of patients referred with suspected velopharyngeal incompetence and frequently travel out across the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire areas to support, advise and train speech and language therapists working in community or school settings.
