Full Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in the assessment and management of voice, upper airway and swallowing disorders in a busy specialist ENT hospital. The post is based within the Speech and Language ENT Team at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospital (UCLH). The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a specialist SLT outpatients service, for both adults and children, as assigned by a specialist SLT or the Team Lead. You will be provided with managerial and leadership support. The SLT service offers an established supervision system and a range of opportunities for learning and participation in self and service development. The Royal National ENT and Dental Hospital is a national tertiary referral centre for a range of specialties, including audio vestibular and speech development SLT services. We have strong links with the teams at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and UCLH., Responsible for delivering a comprehensive and specialist service to patients presenting with voice, upper airway, and swallow disorders. Primary duties include:

  • Assessment and management of adult and paediatric patients with dysphonia.
  • Development of rehabilitation plans for voice, upper airway, and swallow.
  • Participating in and supporting clinics for dysphagia assessment and management, including FEES and videofluoroscopy.
  • Delivering patient education seminars as designated by the Team Lead.
  • Participating in CPD and helping to organise activities as required.
  • Developing and carrying out service development projects as agreed with the line manager.
