Speech and Language Therapist *Subject to Banding*

We are rapidly expanding our Neurodevelopmental offer to the children and young people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) and now Leicestershire Partnership Trust (LPT) have the fabulous opportunity to grow our team to positively impact the experience for children, young people and their families. This post is part of the ongoing The Neurodevelopment (ND) Improvement Programme that has set out to improve the outcomes of children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by identifying the resources committed to their diagnosis and care, agreeing opportunities for improvement and implementing new delivery, finance and workforce models. Successful candidates will be joining an ambitious and passionate team of clinical and administrative colleagues feeding into the ND programme. Post holders will need to have the skills and character to consistently deliver high quality care and work creatively at pace with colleagues with our CYP and families at the centre. The successful applicants will be at the core of the exciting work and improvements for our local population; working to make a significant impact to reducing the waiting list and improving access to support for CYP. We are an ambitious and innovative team with an active interest in learning and a determination to reduce inequality and improve the quality and access to support for CYP.Main duties of the job The post holder will contribute Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and advice on intervention with children and young people being assessed for Neurodevelopmental Conditions (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The job purpose will be to:

• Provide assessment and diagnosis of Autism for children and young people with and without SLCN difficulties.
• To produce reports regarding children and young peoples needs, recommendations and appropriate sign posting reflecting specialist knowledge.
• To use a range of communication strategies, e.g. verbal, non-verbal, assisted (e.g. via signing and/or communication aids), to ensure that, wherever possible, children and young people, carers and others understand the outcome of assessment and are involved in the assessment.This includes obtaining informed consent and where this is not possible ensuring appropriate action is taken.
• Provide effective caseload management for identified caseloads.
• Provide mentorship, advice and learning opportunities for other Speech and Language Therapy colleagues.
• Contribute to whole service improvements.
