Full Job Description

To be clinically responsibility for a caseload of patients who have been delegated by a registered member of staff.

To progress and manage own caseload of patients with freedom to act within structured parameters.

To have the ability to use initiative and feedback to relevant registered member of staff.

To provide treatment and care programmes to clients on an individual or group basis.

To report and document variances in a patient's condition or planned pathway of care to the registered member of staff.

To maintain high standards of clinical care as defined by the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

Work autonomously within the MDT or service in the delivery of planned rehabilitation, interventions and health care programmes.

To assess patients within an agreed caseload under the direction of the therapist, using a predetermined protocol.

The Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service in Brighton and Hove is looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (Band 4). You will have experience of working with children in a clinical or educational setting. You will have knowledge of child development and experience of making and recording observations of children learning, development and behaviour. You will have a specific interest in children's communication and how it can be supported. You will be able to work as part of a team and independently. You will be willing to learn new skills. You will have excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be join our large Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service working with preschool and school age children with complex development and communication needs and their families to support their interaction, communication, language and play skills.

While this post is being advertised as a part time role (equivalent to 4 days per week), we are willing to consider candidates looking for full time work.
