Full Job Description

The successful post holder will work across both locations; being a car driver is desirable and any expenses will be reimbursed from your base location.

This post will combine clinical and administrative support roles: you will be supported to work directly with individuals to deliver one-to-one and group therapy programmes, under the direction of a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), support the SLT in embedding any communication recommendations into the service and be expected to spend time with staff modelling how to use specific techniques that enhance communication.

You will spend a large proportion of your time creating visual resources for individuals and developing the inclusive communication environments in these locations.

You will receive monthly supervision and weekly 1-2-1 session with your clinical supervisor.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. Working across Cygnet Manor (Shirebrook) and Cygnet Views (Matlock), the successful post holder role will work under the guidance of a qualified Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of services for individuals with mental health needs, autism and learning disabilities within the UK. We have built a reputation for delivering pioneering services and outstanding outcomes for the people in our care.

Our expert and highly dedicated care team of 10 000 employees empower 2864 individuals across 150 services to consistently make a positive difference to their lives, through service-user focused care and rehabilitation.

The permanent role is part-time (4 days per week) but there is the potential for additional hours.

Cygnet Manor is a 20-bed high dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge whilst Cygnet Views is a 10-bed high dependency complex care service for women with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge.
