Full Job Description
To deliver therapy programmes devised by the Speech and Language Therapist in one to one situations, under direct/indirect supervision, at the discretion of the Speech and Language Therapist as part of community service and Darlington Memorial Hospital in-patient Speech and Language Therapy service.
To devise and maintain therapy resources.
To provide both clinical and administrative support to Speech and Language Therapists.
An opportunity within the Adult Speech and Language Therapy team has arisen for a motivated, creative individual who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
You will be expected to work alongside and support the qualified members of the Speech and Language Therapy Department providing routine treatment packages of care under supervision. You will have excellent peer support and receive supervision from an experienced SLT within the team. Training and CPD opportunities are actively encouraged. You will require excellent IT skills to help create resources, as well as possess general administration skills to maintain therapy materials and programme communication aid devices. You will have excellent communication and prioritization skills. Experience of working with adults with communication difficulties is essential.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
