Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for those interested in supporting the development of communication skills of children in Wandsworth mainstream schools. You will join the well established mainstream schools speech and language therapy service. Supporting children's communication development is vital and speech therapy plays a crucial role in supporting children to reach their educational potential. To support our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service to children attending mainstream schools.

  • Supporting our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service to children attending mainstream schools.
  • Supporting school staff to set up and run targeted groups for specific students
  • Modelling for education staff
  • Supporting school staff to set up and run universal groups for school age students
  • Encouraging and supporting schools to become a communication friendly environment
  • Providing administrative support to the school SLTs.
  • To attend team meetings and frequently liaise with other members of the team
  • Recording patient information on client database (RiO)
  • Recording numbers attending groups and reporting to the SLT
  • Receiving calls from parents and schools
  • The Children's Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth. We have a range of working parties to ensure we are utilising best practice including:
