  • · To be a clinical support worker within the adult SLT team contributing to the provision of a comprehensive clinical service to all clients referred with communication and/or swallowing difficulties in Worthing West Sussex areas and Community services within Sussex Community NHS Trust.
  • · To be an active member of the adult SLT team and to implement supervised clinical tasksas directed by SLTs within the team in a range of acute and community settings.
  • · To carry out administrative tasks to support patient care, clinical governance and the clinical processes of the adult SLT team.
  • · To ensure sufficient procedures are in place to provide safe and effective administrative support to clinical staff.
  • To comply with the standards and priorities laid down by the SLT service manager, Sussex Community NHS Trust.

    The Adult Speech and Language Team are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly, dedicated and dynamic team. We treat people with a wide range of conditions, including speech, language and swallowing difficulties, working with patients in their own homes, nursing homes and within clinic settings.
  • Our 'Coastal' service covers the south area of West Sussex, from Southwick/Shoreham along the coast to Littlehampton and as far north as Billingshurst/Horsham. We sit within a bigger team who cover Brighton and Hove, Crawley, Bognor/Chichester and High Weald Lewes and Havens. The post is part time, 30 hours (4 days) a week. Ideal working hours would be 8:30 - 16:30 but can be flexible. We are looking for candidates who like working with people and are reliable, flexible and adaptable in their work. Previous experience as a SLT clinical support worker, assistant or similar is desirable. Our ideal candidates will enjoy problem solving, have excellent communication skills, and want to work in the community within a supportive team, helping to implement timely and person-centred assessments and management plans. Full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
