Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sport & Exercise Science Technician to join the Department of Sport & Physical Activity and provide essential specialist support for lab-based provision and Physical Education and Coach Education practical-based provision.

Enthusiastic to deliver an excellence student experience, you will be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of high-quality technical services to support student learning, teaching, research and lab/practical practice within lab/practical based environments.

You will provide supervision support and training on specialist kit to both undergraduate and postgraduate Sport and Exercise science students, prior to and during dissertation and research testing. Completing kit audits and ensuring service contracts and repairs are completed as required by external companies, you will also manage bookings of specialist labs for dissertation testing.

As Sport & Exercise Science Technician you will:

Have experience working in a busy sport and exercise science lab-based environment, preferably with competence in conducting biomechanics-based laboratory and field-based tests
Knowledge of sport and exercise science lab and field-based testing procedures
Be first aid qualified and committed to health and safety
Ability to deliver accurate data and pay attention to detail whilst working to deadlines
Able to work proactively and with initiative as part of a team and independently., Disability Confident
