Full Job Description

We are looking for a Sports Administrator (Social Sport) to join our Communities Team to help us build a better students' union, one that students rely on and are proud to be a part of. This is an exciting time to take on this new role as we seek to develop and grow our social sport programme.

Get Active is the Union's flagship social sport programme and we have ambitious plans to build on the success of the programme to increase engagement and diversify the offer. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting, planning and organising a range of interesting and engaging sports activities and events.

The role requires the person to have a strong understanding of sports/fitness and the benefits of sport on improving mental health and wellbeing and building community.

The role will be one of our most student facing roles so the ability to communicate effectively and maintain excellent working relationships with students and stakeholders including coaches, instructors and university staff is essential. City, University of London and St George's, University of London have signed an agreement to merge to become the combined institution City St George's, University of London.

The Union will also, pending final approval, be merging with St George's Students' Union from 1st August to form City St George's Students' Union. This exciting opportunity, subject to the merger completing, will involve regular work at the current St George's Students' Union office which is based in Tooting as the ActiveU programme is rolled out across all campuses. Whilst some home working is possible outside of term time, there is an expectation that this role will be on site five days a week during term time, so they are readily available to deliver and promote our social sport offer.

You will work onsite mainly at our Northampton Square campus (and surrounding buildings) with occasional work across all other sites including Finsbury Square, Bunhill Row and Tooting or at external venues and other sites as per the needs of the role. We are therefore looking for the successful applicant to start as soon as possible.
