Full Job Description

Join us at Sky High TGA, a dedicated gymnastics facility offering a range of disciplines, including trampolining, general gymnastics, display team gymnastics, tumbling, double mini-trampoline, and freestyle (parkour). As an apprentice coach, you will be involved in coaching every discipline for all ages and abilities.

Coach Core's vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people.

The Community Activator Coach role is the perfect opportunity to understand the role of sport and physical activity in the Community, and as an apprentice coach at Sky High TGA, you will learn and assist in coaching various trampoline and gymnastics activities alongside our qualified team. Our offerings are diverse, catering to all age groups and additional needs, from toddler drop-in sessions to adult fitness, local schools, adult care groups, recreational classes, birthday parties, and holiday camps. You will be involved in every aspect of coaching at the centre.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

-Learning about behaviour change to enable you to develop activities that will support getting and keeping someone active.

-Learning how to actively listen and respond to community group requests for activation.

-Gaining an understanding of how to use effective leadership to deliver coaching sessions that are fun and engaging for the participants whilst understanding that you will become a role model and will need to display the correct behaviours.

-Learning about safeguarding, how to keep records and store information with personal details. It's key to understand the importance of monitoring and evaluating using this information and how it helps with future funding or future activities.

What your apprenticeship includes:

-A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress

-A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars

-Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer

-The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)

We particularly welcome applicants from female, black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and homosexual, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently underrepresented within our workforce.

You will work towards your community activator coach l2 qualification over the course of 12-18 months
