Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated sports first aider andcoach to support our PE and games departmentacross the whole school. This role is essentialin providing comprehensive sports first aid,rehabilitation assistance and general supportacross our school's sporting activities. This role willalso provide supervision in our fitness suite whenneeded.,

  • Collaborate closely with our care centre,
  • Return to Play specialists and the strength and conditioning coach to ensure safe rehabilitation for injured athletes
  • Support follow-up rehabilitation and monitoring
  • of student-athletes recovering from injuries
  • Provide physiotherapy advice to pupils on the
  • rehabilitation of minor injuries and strategies for the prevention of further injuryCoaching and support
  • Support the PE department with general
  • duties throughout the week, ensuring smooth operations within the sports department
  • Attend Saturday morning fixtures, including away
  • games
  • Provide support in PE lessons and assist with
  • coaching as part of the games programme (an ability to coach one of Claremont's primary sports would be advantageous)
  • Assist with the running of after-school sport
  • during the week
  • Participate in departmental meetings
  • Assist with any other reasonable tasks deemed

  • Provide pitch-side first aid emergency care to
  • pupils during sports fixtures and practices after school and on Saturdays
  • Maintain an appropriate first aid qualification
  • and undertake training as required
  • Follow first-aid and health and safety policies in
  • accordance with school policy
  • Liaise on match days with colleagues (teaching
  • staff and coaches), Return to Play specialists, and parents as necessary
  • Report injuries and maintain records in
  • conjunction with Health and Safety regulations, including updating student records relating to accidents and issues that need to be reported through EVOLVE
  • Liaise with Estate and Facilities and the Care

  • Oversee the gym facility and provide support to
  • the pupils and staff who use it
  • Supervise users to ensure safe use of equipment
  • and reduce the chance of injury
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow health and
  • safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain the equipment and report any issues to
  • the Directors of Sport/facilities department
  • Create an induction programme for pupils and
  • staff and ensure all new gym members receive a detailed induction before being allowed to use the gym
  • Ensure a high standards of hygiene and cleaning
  • procedures
  • Report all accidents and near misses through the
  • correct channels

    This position would suit a recent graduate from asports related discipline (e.g. physiotherapy or sportand exercise science) or an individual interested ina career in education or sports.
