Full Job Description

You will be responsible of assisting your manager with market management, junior analyst development, ad-hoc projects, and team leadership. You should have excellent analytical skills to dissect market problems, understand all revenue management resources and be able to solve complex problems with multiple sources of information. You are expected to have a full grasp of not only your groups' responsibilities, but also those of other departments whose policies and changes can impact revenue management. Moreover, since you will work primarily with our partners on the Atlantic Joint Business (AJB) and the Qatar Airways-American Airlines Strategic Alliance (QASA), you are also expected to build collaborative relationships with and consensus amongst multiple stakeholders with varying points of view at all levels at partner organizations. This includes understanding policy and procedures and to jointly develop and optimize revenue strategies. As appropriate, you will be expected to step in as
the lead in the absence of your manager. This job will be located in London and will report to the Senior Manager. Revenue Management Pricing and Yield Management in London

What you'll do

  • Be responsible for developing short-term, medium-term and long-term strategies for maximizing revenue and identifying new revenue strategies and executing as an operational plan which would include filing and maintaining private and published fare and products


  • Positively and effectively influence the team, external partners, and internal partners to achieve goals, particularly in EMEA POS with our strategic partners


  • Regularly participate with partners in analysis and strategic decision making for EU POS programs


  • Concisely and proactively communicates information back to Agency Programs managers, recommending strategy changes where necessary


  • Keep Agency Programs managers abreast of agency level performance and actions that are impacting performance


  • Help lead conversations with partner leadership as it relates to retail programs in both US and EU POS


  • Act as level of support for EU POS fields teams for information needed from American Airlines


  • Accomplish projects accurately, in a timely manner, often without supervision


  • Take initiative on projects, assume responsibility, and solve problems


  • Helping new analysts develop core revenue management competencies


  • Have an understanding of team, departmental, company and Joint-Business' goals and their relevance to the overall business


  • Act with urgency and model sound technical judgment to others


  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and intelligent risk-taking


  • Some international travel will be required

  • Understanding and representing American Airlines position in joint AJB/QASA meetings.


  • Represent self and American Airlines position professionally and develop respect among our partners.


  • Represent American Airlines to IAG/QR senior level leadership


  • Communicate important information proactively to American Airlines AJB manager, appropriate DFW program managers, and relevant partners


  • Knowing when to accept partner position, push back on partner position, and when to escalate to American Airlines leadership.


  • Have the ability to thrive in an unstructured environment, work through ambiguous problems and be resilient in the face of criticism and constructive feedback


  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Understanding American Airlines performance and how retail programs are impacting it.


  • Conduct extensive analysis of agency programs and published/private fare environments and charged with setting QASA/AJB apart as the choice for Transatlantic travel, while optimizing performance of all cabins in conjunction with overall Revenue Management inventory and pricing strategies


  • Provide recommendations on future changes that may drive better outcomes


  • Conduct analysis on agency level performance, including drivers


  • Be a strategy leader

  • Leading strategy recommendations on behalf of American Airlines for EMEA POS
