Full Job Description

The UK Insights and Innovation (I&I) team is looking for an innovative and customer-obsessed Business Intelligence Engineer to define the BIE roadmap on projects which drive early stage thinking for the UK.

We are the UK Flywheel team, part of UK I&I, an agile product and data team that supports key strategic initiatives, scopes new growth opportunities, and works on "tough-to-solve" problems for the UK business.

As part of the UK Flywheel team, you will build scalable data solutions to enable insight generation in addition to providing analytical support for flagship initiatives within UK I&I. Example data solutions include 1) helping Global Store understand where growth opportunities lie and 2) supporting expansion to Ireland and defining new reporting structures for Amazon's latest store in Europe. Recent analytical projects include an investigation of cross-border channels to reduce unnecessary long-distance shipments when the customer need could be met with a nearby substitute.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer in this team, you will have autonomy in both defining the BIE roadmap and technical decisions. You will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working across diverse topics. You will collaborate closely with business owners, data engineers and data scientists to build scalable data solutions and analytical insights. You will be comfortable evaluating business requirements and proposing data solution to solve business needs. As a successful candidate, you will be able to interact with business stakeholders to collaborate on business requirements and project outcomes as well as technical stakeholders, setting tech requirements for engineering team.

Experience in the data/BI space
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with SQL
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience with data modelling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines, Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experience with using SparkSQL for ETL workloads
