Full Job Description

Alder Ward, is a 24 bedded unit based in the market town of Norwich , with easy access to Norwich City and the North Norfolk coasts. As well as rehabilitation the unit also provides palliative and end of life care when Alder ward is the preferred place of care. Main Responsibilities Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care to a named group of patients Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. Work proactively within the team to achieve unit and trust goals and objectives. Work with and promote recognised policies, protocols and guidelines Flexible working and working hours We have posts available from 23 to 37.5 hours per week, so let us know the contracted hours which suit you. The working day is split in to two 11.5 hour shifts, a night from 19:00 to 07:30 and a day from 07:00 to 19:30. The shifts are rostered on a rotational basis across seven days including bank holidays. We offer the right to request flexible working from your first day of
employment including fixed shift patterns and will endeavour to honour any flexible working agreements made with your current employer. Training opportunities We welcome staff who are open to learning new skills such as venepuncture, male and female catheterisation, PEG feeding and ECG recording. To assist you in doing this you will receive support and development through in service training, annual appraisals, a personal development plan and regular clinical supervision. Want to return to the ward environment after working in a different speciality? We can offer you a supported induction to help refresh your skills. We also welcome applications from Newly Qualified Nurses, or those returning to practice following retirement.
