This is an exciting time to join Acute & Emergency Care at Darlington Memorial Hospital as we continue to improve the process and experience for patients who are admitted to Hospital in an emergency. We are seeking to appoint a Registered Nurse to join the Acute Medical Unit.

If you like a challenge, and are able to work at a very fast pace, enjoy working collaboratively then working as part of our Acute Medical Unit multidisciplinary team may be the job for you. It would place you as a member of a committed, caring and compassionate team, who are supportive and knowledgeable about their specialty.

You will work closely with our experienced and friendly multi disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the medical emergency patients care, providing first line treatment. This rapid plan of care enables 40 percent of admissions to be discharged home from the AMU., You will work closely with our experienced and friendly consultant team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the medical emergency patients care, providing first line treatment.-

To ensure that nursing care is provided which meets the assessed needs of patients.

To deliver nursing care, staff and effectively and ensuring delegation to support staff is appropriate

To be aware of and ensure that team leaders communicate changes to patient information and treatment plans both verbally and in writing

To comply with standards of record keeping ensuring adherence to NMC guidelines

To assist the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse in ensuring effective utilisation of resources

To act as clinical role model, maintaining professionalism at all times and support other staff from all disciplines

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
