Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit experienced nurses to join our ever expanding Endoscopy Team, you will be working in a fully Accredited Unit, our department has been recognized as a teaching hub for Endoscopists and consultants. The successful candidate should have the relevant NMC registration or working towards this. The Candidate should be able to plan care around patients along with their carers' and deliver a high standard of care. The successful candidate will act as a role model to their peers, be able to mentor/supervise students and junior staff, work within a Multidisciplinary team, have leadership skills or willing to develop these skills. The candidate should have completed SLAIP or equivalent training for mentoring student nurses. They should be able to delegate, prioritize, be flexible, adaptable, have excellent communication skills. Be able to deal with or recognize conflict, work on own initiative within own limitation, work safely and ensure others do the same by adhering to
Trust protocols and policies.

Our Nurses are currently being trained in accordance with Joint Advisory Requirement (JAG) which will enable them to work in any Endoscopy Unit across the country as Endoscopy is a recognized specialist area. Nurses are given the opportunity to attend study days and courses outside of the unit which upgrades their skills, increase knowledge, The main duties of our Endoscopy nurses is to admit, discharge, work alongside the endoscopist carrying out the procedures. Our nurses are trained in assisting with Therapeutic procedures such as ERCP, EBUS, EUS/FNA, RFA etc. Our Nurses are also trained in Nurse Led consent of different procedures which gives our patients a better experience of their procedures. Nurses are trained in mentoring students and junior staff, other skills they possess are cannulation, carrying out venepuncture and any drug related tasks.
