Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 16-bed female acute ward. The post holder carries responsibility and accountability for the health care management of their patient group, in collaboration with senior nurses and Team Leaders. The band 5 staff nurse will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating family centred programmes of care., Maintain high standards of nursing care and promote an environment suitable for our patients, ensuring that all planned care fully reflects latest research developments. To assess, develop, implement and evaluate person centred care in collaboration with the patient, their family/carers and with colleagues or senior staff and ultimately without direct supervision. Actively participate in mentorship for junior staff and students and participate in clinical supervision. Ensure safeguarding issues are acted upon promptly and appropriately. Continuously develop the clinical role in order to be able to work independently, anticipate care needs of patients and actively manage their journey through recovery. This includes being able to work independently or as part of a team in potentially stressful, distressing or challenging circumstances. To extend and expand nursing roles within the nurses competence, and with appropriate training as guided by local and departmental policies and procedures.
