Full Job Description

The vascular ward is looking for enthusiastic, caring and compassionate nurses who want a rewarding nursing pathway and who have a specific interest in Vascular nursing.

We can offer you training in caring for patients with complex vascular conditions and wound management. We can offer theatre experience to see the patient journey throughout and to work with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe discharge for these patients who have very specific needs. Complex Wound Management for these patients both pre and post operative with also involvement with rehabilitation and discharge planning for patients who have undergone major limb surgery.

With the development of level one vascular beds within the unit you will have the opportunity to learn skills to care for these patients pre and postoperatively, ensuring a high quality of care at all times. You will be given the opportunity for Preceptorship and we will support you with your learning and development for you to become an integral part of our team.

On a day to day basis you will be caring for patients which may belong to other specialities; supporting your colleagues on the ward to provide safe, high quality care to your patients. You will participate as an active member of the nursing team, accountable for your practice and acting as role model., You will demonstrate a good knowledge of surgical conditions and the treatment required, using evidence based practice. You will support the team in the assessing , planning, delivery and evaluation of care to patients attending the department in accordance with Trust and Directorate pathways. You would be joining an established, dynamic, supportive team who always strive to uphold the Trusts Values at all times and work towards provide Quality care to all our patients.
